Going with the 80GB you would save 16 GBP and that makes total 304GBP and also I dont have good experiences with VIA chipset last 2 years. They have been very good before but not nowdays. My friends who wanted to go the really cheap and buying VIA chipset motherboard had a lot of problems with chipset drivers and over stability.
Do you have problems with textures in other games?
IF yes then try newest/different drivers. In the case it wouldnt help I think its corrupted memory on your graphic card.
I would not buy motherboard with AGP slow nowdays. You will be pretty limited later when you will be upgrading graphic card.PCI-E is much better choise.
I have attached my opinion on the simmilar system.Would get to 1200GBP if I would include Windows Vista Home Premium OEM + same flash stick and web camera.
Saved around 250GBP and having better cooler, fast 10k RPM drive for OS and second HD.Better mice.I could get easily 150GBP down without the fast 10K rpm HD and different motherboard from MSI which I know can overclock nicely too.
I think one package from overclockers is not well balanced.1000W power supply is so overkill.
You we need several HD,2x 8800 GTX in sli and some Quad core overclocked and this would be still enough.
Please download and install the program from the link below. It can tell you almost all details about your hardware including the memory details you looking for.
You must be kidding man.
This LFS comunity is so nice and someone want to make someone else happy and people start complaining....jesus I dont understand that at all.
I was at the office and reading the thread about the skins downloading for money in the general sections I was under impression reading various post that its not possible to donwload only hires car skins and you have to download both car and helmet skins.I applogize for the wrong posts then.
Well maybe I am blind but I dont think its possible when you want to download hi-res skins then you can do it only for car skins. You download both.IF yes then I am really sorry...
People said they dont care much about hi-res(1024) helmet skins and would like to pay rather for car skins without the helmet skins.
I know the suggestion shouldnt come here but when reading the thread in General sections about "would you pay for skins...." a lot of people asking if would be possible to select only to download Hi-res car skins or Hi-res helmets.
ON/OFF hi-res Car skins
ON/OFF hi-res Helmets skins
Where I have asked for something like that.....I want S2 to be finished and then finally to improve the 3D engine after the years.there are still some minor/major graphic improvements which needs to be done before S2 final.Lets say shadows under all cars for full S2 should be done.
This is going very offtopic now.I am very happy for Scawen`s small report and thats end the speculation probably.
The graphic effects like brake fade(glow) is a part of simulation in both physic and graphic way.The word simulation mean to simulate and I am expecting to do it in all areas. Some effects add immersivity as well.
Scawen mentioned he would like to add dynamic weather and thats not possiblw without DX9 at least.
Do you know who cares?Customers and potential buyers.
I bet if LFs would have much better 3D engine showing to people some nice effects there would be much more sold licencies. Why do you think people asking for hi-res textures.Becuase they want better graphic.
Yeh converting would take some time but Scawen will have to do that soon to support effects and other things.
Also most of the current games 3D engines have several path for the different DX9 hardware SM2.0 SM3.0 etc.Getting complicated for Scawen thought.....I would like to see shifting forward with 3D engine because there is more possibilities to offload the work to GPU and using some cool effects without loosing the current performance. Most of the DX9 hardware is now halfway used in LFS so there shouldnt be performance drop adding some effects.
What I mean with the effectivity that when you start using some DX9 pixel/vertex code the effectivnies vary also across the DX9 hardware becaue there is DX9 a,b,c spec and they differ as well.
Also the later DX9 the longer code you can do in one cycle without ususally loosing the performance.
No,Jakg mean that it shouldnt be possible with your board.
I know some motherboard with 945chipset support also Core2 Duo but after at least the BIOS update.By the looking at HP pages they didnt mentioned anything about that.
Having 775 socket doesnt mean automatically C2D is supported.IS it due to special power requirement/norms and usually later revions of the board support C2D with same chipset.
Maybe to threw a question on ASUS official forum.I bet someone will answer that but I have high doubts its possible.Sorry
Hi,
I dont know anything about LFS lapper but without the red text it would be much better.I am not sure what you have been tring to achive by that but we are not blind and always helpfull in this section.
I dont like to qoute you Scawen but I couldnt help with that reading the above.
I think the choosing the right interface(I hope I understand well that you mean DX9,10...what ever) is crucial to be able to support as many customers as possible without big complaints.
Also the older the engine the less effective it is.Lets say in hypotetical way some vertex/pixel code can be executed for example with DX9 hardware faster then with DX8.1 hardware so its more effective and might give your more FPS as the result.
Thanks for a small "progress" report what have been Eric doing so far.I wouldnt mind 2 or 3 teasing pictures thought.
